Muir Building Assembly Studio

Located overlooking the eastern suburbs Queens Park, this 2-storey detached family home takes advantage of the views towards the Sydney CBD skyline and the Blue Mountains beyond. The current dwelling was starting to exhibit limitations often experienced by a young, growing family.

The alterations and additions to the residence included a facelift to all facades, an exploration of additional indoor / outdoor areas to the front and back of the main dwelling, internal reconfiguration to the hardworking family areas as well as the development of a double car garage with rear lane access and granny flat above. This was tied together with a consistent, yet minimal material language.

My role on this project was to document the existing dwelling and proposed changes. This DA package needed specific analysis of the existing streetscape and surrounding dwellings to identify how to approach discussion with relevant authorities. I was required to work closely with the director, client and council planner to develop a set of drawings to submitted for development application.
